Trails WA is the peak body for tourism and advocacy of Western Australia's diverse network of trails.
With over 800+ trails across the state, discoverability and scale were key tenets of the website brief handed to Humaan. It was essential that design and development worked in tandem to create an experience that enabled exploration and supported rapid browsing across desktop and handheld devices.
Humaan designed and developed a completely new platform that would put user experience and trail discovery at the forefront while allowing intuitive management of trails, content and user profiles in the backend. The scale of the site and the volume of content were streamlined into a handful of navigation nodes that allowed for logical search and filtering across trail types and disciplines. This was complemented by powerful site-wide search functionality and pin-point geospatial overlays to ensure accurate trail options were presented for the intrepid explorer.
The recipient of multiple industry awards for design and UX, the Trails WA website has been a major contributor to the promotion of trails and trail tourism across WA and has enabled thousands of people to find themselves in amazing places while exploring trails throughout the state.
